Courses update

The summer school bookings are going well. Surface Decoration is now fully booked and Wood Cuts is almost fully booked. Textile Techniques is well on the way and so is Wood Engraving. We have had to pull Lino cuts on Paper and Clay unfortunately. I think Melanie will have to start building up her own ceramics following first and then we will try a collaboration again. We need one more booking on the Artists Books courses to make it viable but we have several weeks yet before we have to pull it.

We're now concentrating on our Autumn programme with Spring and Summer 2010 also in the planning stages.

Art Tour over for another year

Well I've not posted for some weeks as The Art Tour got up and running. This year many of us felt the chill winds of the so called 'credit crunch'. Visitor numbers were down as were sales. Nevertheless The Art Tour is never just about sales (although that does help oil the wheels).

A new gallery to us, The Calder Gallery in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, invited us to exhibit in their summer print exhibition - July 21st - September 20th. This means we have a chance to further extend our reach to galleries a little further afield from where we are now.

Following on from that request we then received another invite to exhibit at The Smokehouse Gallery in Eyemouth just over the Scottish border so we are going North too. That exhibition opens on August 5th.

Many visitors went away educated as to what a collagraph was nad an etching and/or monotype and some took away details of our workshops so hopefully some of them will be back to give printmaking a try. I still have to update the mailing list. A big job for next week.
