MY STORY

In 1998 I enrolled on a day workshop in monotype at The University of Newcastle upon Tyne. At the time this act was simply a way of claiming back some 'me' time with children aged 4 and 18 months. I had no idea such an action would have such a significant effect on my future.

Hence my voyage into printmaking began. I loved playing with colour, the freedom to make marks, messy ink and the element of serendipity. I enrolled on every workshop Rebecca Vincent taught and joined Northern Print.  After 4 years I became self employed sharing a studio in partnership with Rebecca for 7 years - Horsley Printmakers - as an independent studio based at The Hearth Arts Centre. This year I branched out on my own joining Allendale Forge Studios where I work part time 3 days a week and work the other days in my new light and airy studio.

I exhibit at various galleries in the North East of England. These include:

The Bakehouse Gallery, Alnwick, Northumberland
The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear.
Bianco Nero, Stokesley, N. Yorkshire
Robinson Gay Gallery, Hexham, Northumberland

and of course Allendale Forge Studios which is an artists cooperative and community interest company where I am now a member. The venue includes 11 studios, a shop selling members creative hand made work, a gallery, a sound recording studio, video conferencing facilities, meeting room hire, and a cafe with free WiFi.

If you are in the area you will find us in Allendale Market Square, Allendale, NE47 9BD.
