This Saturday Hexham, the town where I live comes alive with it's lovely
Christmas Farmers Market Day. "Farmers Market" doesn't fully describe the event. Yes, farmers bring their quality produce to sell directly to the public but there is so much more to it. There are over 80 stalls that fill the market place and extend round into Beaumont Street, some of them even continue into the medieval
Hexham Abbey itself. Santa will be there with his reindeer and sleigh and of course all the shops prepare for the influx of visitors too.

If you come to Hexham for the Christmas market make sure you take a wander down Market Street. My
floral prints are on exhibition at
The Robinson Gay Gallery, (beside
Gaia in Market Street this Saturday). When you step inside the spicy scent of mulled wine and mince pies will waft down the stairs leading you up to the main part of the gallery. The gallery is as warm and inviting as your own home with the combination of
Jason's beautiful bespoke furniture complimented by
paintings, (my) prints,
ceramics and pieces of
sculpture and much more.
And of course on Sunday I'll be in
the studio in Horsley to greet visitors as part of our extended
Christmas Open Studio. The council are out in force in the village today clearing footpaths and the
Lion & Lamb car park so things are beginning to return to normal. All the artists and craftspeople are looking forward to seeing you on Sunday between 11-4pm.

I love the Hadrian's Wall print. It captures beautifully the scale of the landscape in that part of the world. I was going to call it bleak, but that is wrong I think
